Things to Do

NOTE: It will be extremely busy this weekend!

Two large events are scheduled on Saturday - Pride Fest and Juneteenth, as well as a home baseball game for the AAA Columbus Clippers.

Last year 700,000 people participated in one way or another in the 2023 Pride festivities with around 18,000 registered marchers. This year, COSI will also host Juneteenth which will draw a lot of people downtown as well.

There are lots of things to do in the downtown Columbus area

A few of our favorites are listed below

Here is a custom MAP with points of interest (heavily congested areas are marked with in purple).

Olde Towne East & Discovery District

A block from our house in our neighborhood of Olde Towne East is Gemüt Biergarten, a renovated 100 yr old fire station and The Attic Comedy Club (where we saw Dave Chappelle last year). A couple blocks away is the Columbus Art Museum and the Main Public Library next to The Topiary Park

Trolley Barn & Franklin Park

Down the street from our house in Olde Towne East you can grab a bite to eat and enjoy great beer at Columbus Brewing Company which opened a year ago along with the East Market in a renovated 100 year old street car building. One block over is the Franklin Park Conservatory and gardens (where we've taken a glass blowing class).

Short North & Goodale Park

North of downtown and south of OSU main campus is the Short North which is the main drag for dining, bars and shops in the downtown area.

Goodale Park and the Short North will be extremely busy with Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade Saturday morning culminating at Goodale Park.

Scioto Mile & Franklinton

Just West of the Scioto Mile (at the end of which is North Bank Pavilion Park where we're getting married) is Franklinton where you'll find an up-and-coming arts district with new restaurants and bars like one of our favorite beer gardens, Land Grant.

COSI science and industry museum is walking distance which is located in the old Central High School and prominently overlooks the river and will host Juneteenth on Saturday, June 15th.

Nearby is the newly built National Veterans Memorial and Museum (the nation’s first and only memorial dedicated solely to telling the stories of Veterans, their families and the fallen).

This is just a taste of what Columbus has to offer so if you have the time use your favorite Google machine. The Experience Columbus website is also a great resource.

Other things of note:
